It has been said that the "Great god Pan is dead" and thus was the start of the new age of humanity the one that elevated Christianity.
"PanAnastasis" is an allegory of the resurrection of God Pan and his wondrous return from falling in love with the sea to bring the power of Mother Nature again to it's full glory and all that is connected with.

As in that nursery rhyme Eleanor Farjeon is describing that was the image of yesterday , the forgotten god Pan is absent.

"In Arcady there lies a crystal spring
Ring'd all about with green melodious reeds
Swaying seal'd music up and down the wind.
Here on its time-defaced pedestal
The image of a half-forgotten God
Crumbles to its complete oblivion.

To deities he honoured and dethroned!

In "PanAnastasis" we see the contrast of the darkness that cynicism of the new Christian era brought to the earth and it's dwellings in opposition with the returning / ressurection of god Pan. This is a bright romantic feast of celebrating lust, scandalous love, connection with the earth and nature and it's natural inhabitants united, men, animals, spirits all in joyful ecstatic dance
